Located just opposite Riverview Hotel across the river is Robertson Quay, named after Dr J Murray Robertson, a prominent Municipal Councillor during 19th century Singapore.

With its many shophouses built after 1880 using a fusion of Eastern and Western architectural styles, Robertson Quay offers a unique ambience with its laid-back atmosphere.

Robertson Quay is part of the Singapore River Trail (SRT) organised by the National Heritage Board (NHB).

The Singapore Tyler Print Institute (STPI), an international publisher and dealer of fine art prints and works on paper, is also located at Robertson Quay.

With its unique facility and dedicated team, STPI collaborates with outstanding artists from around the world to push the technical and aesthetic frontiers of printmaking and papermaking, creating edition prints and unique works on paper.  You can visit STPI’s many exhibitions or even purchase works by artists who have exhibited at the venue.

STPI is just around a 8 to 10 minutes walk from Riverview Hotel after crossing the Robertson Bridge.

Great World City Shopping Mall
Only a 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from Riverview Hotel, Great World City is a one-stop family shopping mall with a wide range of products and services. Chinatown
The Chinatown in Singapore is one of the must-see cultural enclaves for visitors to have a fascinating peek into the city’s Chinese culture and history. The heart of Chinatown is a bustling, colourful mix of old and new, from family-run goldsmiths and medicine halls, to textile stores and dim sum restaurants. Popular bakeries like Tong Heng Oriental Pastry on South Bridge Road, tea houses like Kwong Chen on Sago Street, hawker stalls, as well as stylish bars along Club Street, are also housed in this precinct, making Chinatown a well-balanced heartland.

Stop at the impressive Chinatown Heritage Centre to get a cultural introduction of this neighbourhood. Housed in three beautifully restored shophouses along Pagoda Street, you’ll get to learn about Chinatown’s social history and development via photographs, recorded oral interviews and exhibits, allowing you to retrace the journeys made by Singapore’s earliest Chinese migrants.

There are also several prominent religious landmarks in the area and you might be surprised to see that there are also Hindu temples and mosques amongst them. Both the Sri Mariamman Temple and Jamae Mosque on South Bridge Road are among the oldest places of worship in Singapore, while a little further down the road, you can also find the visually stunning Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, which reputedly contains a tooth of the Buddha.

You can take a 5 minutes’ taxi ride to Chinatown, hop on to the free shuttle bus service from the hotel or board bus number 51 from the bus-stop outside the hotel, alight at Apollo Centre (third bus-stop from the hotel) and walk to Chinatown. If you prefer to walk, Chinatown is around a 20 minutes’ stroll from the hotel.

Zouk
Riverview Hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Zouk, one of the most popular club in Singapore and the region.

The wash basin and toilet bowl have grab bars next to them and the bathroom also has a commode – a special seat for shower. There is another grab bar next to the bed.
